For Jinro and Hite, the chance to sponsor this charitable event, ¡°Justa Taste, Justa Laugh, Justice for Women¡± hosted by California Women¡¯s Law Center (CWLC), is always a welcome invitation. Not only are they contributing to a cause that deserves a full attention and support but also it serves as a great opportunity to introduce Jinro¡¯s products to a group of people that are not familiar with the product, the brand, even the category.
The 19th annual ¡°Justa Taste, Justa Laugh, Justice for Women¡± was held on June 5, 2008 at the California Science Center in Los Angeles. Now in its 18th year, the event¡¯s purpose is to help fund the unique advocacy programs of CWLC, the only organization of its kind in the state that works to ensure, through systemic change, that life opportunities for women and girls are free from unjust social, economic, and political constraints.
Along with celebrity comediennes who performed after the reception hours, about 16 of top Los Angeles based restaurants and more than 60 silent auction donors and 6 beverage corporate sponsors participated in the event. Attendees and guests included 700 of working professionals that have continuously supported this charitable event.
In its continuing efforts to introduce its brand and products to the main stream consumers, Jinro and Hite introduced variety of soju cocktails and Hite beer to the guests. Jinro service three of the most popular soju cocktails; Cosmopolitan, Blue Raspberry Martini, and Apple Martini, and Hite served its famous beer. Jinro¡¯s bar area was decorated with product signage and banners and Kiosk style truss system which stood out from the rest of the sponsor exhibits. Jinro¡¯s marketing manager, Kevin Kang confirmed that Jinro and Hite will continue to support this event as well as many other community events to further promote brand and corporate image while promoting its product line to the U.S. mainstream market.
Founded in 1989, CWLC¡¯s work includes projects that address discrimination against women with breast cancer, the enforcement of Title IX, and violence against women, including protecting women from domestic violence, rape and sexual assault. The CWLC also engages in advocacy that protects the civil rights of pregnant and parenting teens, and ensures access to reproductive health care for women, regardless of income. Sobering statistics reveal that almost half of poverty-level families in California are headed by a single parent; of those 75 percent are women. In addition, roughly 75 percent of the state¡¯s current legal services clients are women and their children
